Baliktaran

This 2001 comedy movie brought to the big screen the fresh comic tandem of Bayani Agbayani and Rufa Mae Quinto.

Ace (Bayani) is a gay man, who, at the behest of his dad is forced to marry lesbian Daisy (Rufa Mae), the daughter of his dad’s BFF.

This Al Tantay-directed comedy about a couple switching roles to make their marriage work is a definite LOL experience.

Moron 5 and the Crying Lady

If you’re missing the late Wenn Deramas’ brand of comedy, you can catch the Moron 5 and the Crying Lady on Viva Film’s YouTube Channel.

This 2014 comedy is about half-witted longtime friends Albert (Luis Manzano), Isaac (Billy Crawford), Mozart "Mo" (DJ Durano), Michaelangelo "Mike" (Martin Escudero) and Aristotle "Aris" (Marvin Agustin) who are living hassle-free albeit moronic lives until they cross path with Becky Pamintuan (John Lapus), a successful career woman who accuses them of killing her father.

Becky became successful in putting all five to jail, where they tried—but failed—all sorts of comedic attempts to get out. When they finally figured out a way to escape, they stalked Becky to understand why she framed them up.

But will knowing the answer give them closure or will it open secrets about themselves they’d rather didn’t know?

Do Re Mi

This 1996 Ike Jarlego, Jr. movie, which stars

Donna Cruz, Regine Velasquez, and Mikee Cojuangco, is considered one of the most successful Filipino musical comedy of all time.

In the film, the three actresses (playing as singers) literally sang their way through life's ups and downs as they built a lasting friendship.

Reggie Mendoza (Regine) a self-confessed lola's girl, and Mikki Tolentino (Mikee), a man-hating, breadwinner tomboy, discovered ang managed to convince Donnette Legaspi (Donna), a vain and spoiled rich girl, to join them to form the musical trio Do Re Mi.

Altogether, they tried pursuing a music career in Japan (as it was the income mecca of performers back then), but only to find out they were victims of illegal recruiters.

The girls then travel to an unknown rural province to save their faces. There, they helped convert a small local restaurant into a mini bar where they perform to sustain their daily needs. Their performances consistently draw huge crowds, and their popularity attracted several record executives who wanted to sign them for record deal.

But on the day of the group's contract signing, Donnette and Mikki backed out, leaving a disheartened Reggie as a solo act.

They parted ways.

Reggie pursued a solo career and became a successful solo singer, while Donnette channeled her energy to help orphans and other abused children. For her part, Mikki, who no longer hates men, started her own family and a food business.

One charitable event would bring them all together  unknowingly. There, the Do Re Mi trio performed a song they have once co-written together.

Take your pick or watch them in marathon through the Viva Films’ YouTube Channel.
