Isabel Rivas turned #sweet60

Last December 18, veteran actress Isabel Rivas—who is currently seen in her comeback project after seven years, Los Bastardos on ABS-CBN—celebrated her 60th birthday via a grand party held at the main ballroom of the Quezon City Sports Club, along E. Rodriguez Avenue.

Her guests, beside her immediate family, include personalities from showbiz then and now. Among those we saw partying with her are Daria Ramirez, Liz Alindogan, Azenith Briones, Imelda Ilanan, Perla Bautista, Efren Reyes, Jr., Precy Ejercito, Maila Gumila, Anna Marin who came with sons Brian and Ronian, (wife of Senator Jingoy Estrada), and her Legends family namely Tirso and Lynn Cruz, Gina Alajar, Ali Soto, Malou Choa-Fagar, Fanny Serrano, and Lorna Tolentino, who came with son Rap Fernandez and granddaughter Tori.

We also saw Los Bastardos director Ruel Bayani as well as young stars Joshua Colet and Marco Gumabao, who is actually her nephew. Marco’s dad Dennis Roldan is Isabel’s younger brother.

Presidential legal counsel Atty. Sal Panelo was also present and even rendered a song number for the celebrant. (Isabel is a staunch Duterte supporter.)

Of all the happy moments that took place that night, the one thing that Isabel is possibly most touched about was the speech of her only son Richard Chua, who is now father to her first grandchild, Heather Chua, courtesy of wife Nadine Samonte (one of the original StarStruck graduate of GMA-7).

Isabel, who is Malou Gumabao in real life, started in showbiz when she was only 21.  She was introduced in the film Kambal sa Uma in 1979.
