Masakit daw kasi talagang ma-thank-you girl.
“Iniisip ko talaga, ‘Ba’t ako natalo?” Kylie told This is Showbiz, pikapika’s online show. “Feeling ko kasi, kaya ko. Kailangan kasi gano’n, naniniwala ka.”
And when she did move on, she joined again the following year and vowed to win this time. And she did! She brought home the Bb.Pilipinas-International crown.
But if she didn’t make it again sa second try, tatatlo pa raw siya, ala Pia Wurtzbach, dahil ganon siya ka-resolute na tao.
She brought the same resolve with her to Japan, when she competed for the Miss International crown. And once again, she won and became the 6th Filipina to be called Miss International.
Alongside, she was finishing her business management course sa Ateneo.
When the opportunity to join beauty pageantry came, kinarir ito ni Kylie.
When she finished her reign as Miss International, nagsimula nang magdatingan ang mga offers to act.
She didn’t mind accepting minor roles in movies such as Coco Martin’s Ang Panday, Star Cinema’s Kasal, and Viva’s Abay Babes until mabigyan siya ng magandang exposure sa Los Bastardos ng ABS-CBN, where she met now-boyfriend Jake Cuenca.
Sobrang intense daw kasi ng passion ng boyfriend niya sa acting and he rubs it off on her.
In fact, during the pandemic, nag-enrol daw siya sa mga acting workshops. Dahil ’yon nga ang bago niyang goal: to be the best actress that she can be.
At mukang nailabas niya ito nang husto sa upcoming movie niyang The Housemaid, ang Pinoy adaptation ng hit 2010 Korean thriller na nagi9ng contender for the Palme d’Or sa 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
Ani Kylie, sinabi daw niya sa mga Viva bosses niya that she’s willing to go daring naman but she won’t go sexy for nothing. That’s when they gave her The Housemaid, na mukang tailor-made for her.
The Housemaid is available for screening exclusively on Vivamax.
In the meantime, panoorin n’yo muna ang aming pakikipagtsikahan with Kylie, where we also talked about her bouts with depression and why she’s been advocating for mental health awareness; ang role ng beauty pageants during the pandemic, at ang cool and relaxed relationship nila ni Jake Cuenca.
