Jowable, the viral video series that took over Facebook in 2018, is now in book form. Written by Darryl Yap, the same scriptwriter and director behind the short film, the "readable, lovable, and jowable" book expands upon the story of Elsa—the main and only character of the three relatable short films created by Darryl and his team behind the Facebook page ‘Vincentiments.’
The new book was launched last March 16 at National Book Store in SM Manila, where author Darryl Yap made a short speech detailing his journey from writing the short film's script, to adapting it for print, and finally—turning it into a feature-length film which is now being produced under VIVA Films. You read that right: a Jowable movie will hit theaters soon!
Fans of Darryl's work can get his first published book for P225 at National Book Store. The book's official description reads: "Ang Jowable ay isang matapang na akdang hinubog mula sa mga luha at laway ng mga millennials na walang takot na kumukwestiyon sa laro at biro ng tadhana, nagtatanong kung bakit palpak at mabagal ang pagdating ng tamang panahon para sa kanilang puso at kaligayahan."
