At bagama’t naka-pribado ang Instagram nito, napag-alaman pa ring he’s based in both Manila and Milan, Italy.

Minsan na ring nabanggit ni Meg sa mga past interviews that she’s in a relationship with a Filipino guy with Portuguese roots pero isang Italian citizen.

“Me naman po kasi, my mentality now o my perspective on relationship and getting to the next level of relationship is that dapat stable na ’yong family ko and wala na akong excess baggage or wala na akong mga unfinished business in my life right now...and then I can move forward,” latag ni Meg.

“Anytime na matapos lahat ng mga responsibilities ko—dahil late bloomer ako, e, [sa adulting]—then I am...I’m willing to ano naman na. Kumbaga, settle down, if given the ano, the chance.”

Five years ago lang daw kasi niya sinubukang mag-solo living at noon daw niya na-realize na marami pa siyang dapat ayusin sa buhay niya.

“Once I feel na okay na siya, na I’m ready na...[tapos] independent na ’yong family ko and may mga naibigay na ’ko na okey na sila, then ako naman. So, ’yon ’yong time na I can move forward na. Kasi if right now, if gagawin ko siya now, hindi ko po alam kung mapa-priority ko ang life ko over them ’coz still priority ko right now is my family, Parang gano’n.”

(Mabait na anak kasi itong si Meg.)

Samantala, kahit magka-iba ang POV ng mga characters nila ni Tom sa movie, Meg says she can relate to both lalo na nga sa estado niya ngayon na ready pero hindi when it comes to the marriage topic dahil both characters embody her emotional state right now.

“For me, they are not just ’yong characters but they are emotions ko—as a whole na separated into two—meaning, I can relate to Joan in a way na I believe in marriage and s’yempre gusto kong ikasal din someday. But, like the character of William, I’m not yet ready because I’m fixing myself, I’m fixing ’yong mga needed kong tapusin bago ako mag-move forward in life.

“So, it’s a matter of when ko siya mapi-feel na I’m ready. So, naka-relate ako sa parehas [na characters]...gusto ko nang ikasal anytime,  but...there’s’ a reason pa [why I can’t].”

The good thing is, pareho daw sila ng mentalidad ng kanyang boyfriend na mukang career-oriented din. Napagkasunduan naman daw nilang i-exhaust muna, kumbaga, ang pagiging single bago mag-level up.

“We talked about it...that, ‘Okay, let’s give ourselves ilang years...let’s say, three to four years to settle things, sa kanya-kanyang careers natin, mga gusto nating gawin in life and then let’s see after that. If we’re ready then let’s do it; if we’re both not yet ready, let’s see. Let’s decide when we cross the bride.’

“Kasi gano’n ’yong ano namin, e...Kasi the good thing about my relationship right now is pareho kami ng mentality...that we don’t want to rush things. Especially ngayong nangyari ’yong pandemic? So, parang if we want to build a family, might as well ’yong okey na kami pareho and nagawa na namin ’yong mga gusto namin gawin.”

Huling hirit namin: Does she see that happening in the next five years?

“I think so. Hopefully. For me, ha. If okay na, sure. It will happen.”

Samantala, streaming nang kasalukuyan ang The Last Five Years sa Vivamax.

Nakaka-intriga tuloy.
