White Castle Whisky recently created a major media splash that garnered such positive reactions when it officially launched Ria Atayde as its 2023 calendar girl. The campaign is strongly anchored in the elevation of body positivity – that the concept of being sexy comes in different forms, shapes, and sizes as it encompasses all body types while transcending the mainstream template of what a calendar girl should be.

This very bold move follows its predecessors in 2021 when the brand launched YouTube chef and creative content creator Ninong Ry as the first White Castle Boy and again in 2022 with TikTok sensation Sassa Gurl as the first transgender woman to grace the brand’s iconic calendar.

Mainstream media and millions of netizens went into a frenzy when the brand’s positivity campaign exploded with Ria Atayde as they collectively agreed that while Sassa Gurl’s engagement greatly boosted the cause of the LGBTQIA+ community, Ria on the other hand brought home “a much deserved and overdue win for the big girls.”

And being true to its core, White Castle Whisky remains consistent in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community as it breaks the barriers of stereotypes in being a major sponsor of Drag Den Philippines that mounted its finale in Samsung Hall of SM Aura in Taguig with NAIA Black as the show’s grand winner.

With some of Manila’s elite present during the series finale, including its host – internationally acclaimed drag queen Manila Luzon along with fellow judges beauty queen turned media personality Nicole Cordoves and Sassa Gurl, Ria Atayde and Destileria Limtuaco’s VP for Administration Brandon Limpe-Aw presented NAIA Black fabulous prizes which include Php250,000.00 in cash.

"While we've decided to use our platform to highlight body positivity with Ria this 2023, we have not forgotten our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community who have been instrumental in our brand growth since last year. Our sponsorship of Drag Den also supports the endeavors of Sassa Gurl, our 2022 calendar model. We are proud of what she has accomplished and we join her in support of the community," says Brandon Limpe-Aw.

In the months to come, White Castle Whisky and Ria Atayde will continue to join hands in sending out a positive and affirming message on the vast diversity of beauty and the multiple variations of what it truly means to be confident and sexy in the hopes of enabling millions of people regardless of gender to embrace the power that they wield as they all stand united in making the world a better place.
