Kapamilya stars and supporters once again raise their voices online to back ABS-CBN in its broadcasting franshise application that is still being tackled in Congress.
It is common knowledge that the ABS-CBN Network is currently off air since May 5 due to the cease and desist order [CDO] issued by the National Telecommunications Communication [NTC] over its expired broadcasting franshise.
ABS-CBN went back on air via Kapamilya Channel 43 as "blocktimer" on June 13 but due to an "alias" CDO, the TV network was forced to shutdown its transmission on TV Plus and Sky Direct in Metro Manila on June 30.
Besides the franchise issue, the media giant is also currently being grilled in the congressional hearing due to alleged tax violations, labor violations, biased news reporting, foreign ownership, and more.
However, these did not deter Kapamilya actors and ABS-CBN supporters from affirming their support and airing their respective sentiments and pleas to Congress for a “yes” vote.
They are one in their plea to the House Legislative Franchises Committee to give ABS-CBN a second chance to be able to secure thousands of jobs for its workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic and to continue its service to the public through its news and entertainment contents.
Some of the Kapamilya artists even recalled their humble beginnings in the entertainment industry and lauded ABS-CBN for giving them opportunities, helping them in reaching their dreams, and contributing so much to what they have become as persons today.
Here are some of the celebrities who pen their emotional appeal to Congress:
