Sharon Cuneta, super sepanx na sa anak na Kakie
Megastar Sharon Cuneta took to Instagram earlier today to express her separation anxiety (sepanx) towards her daughter Frankie “Kakie” Pangilinan, who’s soon to start her studies in New York.
Frankie is the eldest daughter of Sharon and Senator Kiko Pangilinan. And earlier this month, Sharon’s whole family to New York to help Frankie settle in her college dormitory.
On her IG, Sharon wrote her sentiments. She said: “KC flew home the other day. Dada, Miel and Miguel with our Yaya Carmen left yesterday. So it’s now just me, Yaya Hanzel and my Kakie who is sleeping with me in the hotel until I leave, even if she’s already settled in her dorm.”
The actress explained that she has been experiencing sleepless nights, anxiety kicking in, as she’s soon to leave her daughter all by herself in a country far away from home.
“I have been getting 2-1/2 to 3 hours of sleep at night since we got here two weeks ago, and now, clearly this is no longer jetlag (though that lasted a week for me!). It’s all the stress and pain of knowing that in a few more days, I will have to gather all my strength to be able to finally leave her here, in this big, beautiful city - all alone without her whole family, and her friends whom she has known and loved and been loved by since 7th grade.”
She went on: “She has known nothing but love since the day she was born...and I worry too much about her. I am so crazy about all my children - but since Kakie’s second oldest and was born a ‘manang,’ meaning she has always been more mature for her age, she has been for the past few years, my best friend.”
And even if she’s not leaving her daughter just yet, Sharon already misses her Kakie.
“I miss her already. I cry every night, but I shouldn’t be selfish and just let her spread her wings and fly. I hope I can visit her often. Please pray for both Kakie and me. Thanks so much and God bless you all.”
This is not the first time that Sharon made it known to the public that she’s having a hard time letting go of her daughter and allowing her to chase her dreams even if it means being miles apart form her.
During Frankie’s graduation last June 7, she also penned a long message on her IG stating that she was experiencing an early onset of sepanx (separation anxiety) as Frankie prepared to study abroad.
At that time, she was still trying to convince her daughter to stay by suggesting prestigious Philippine universities she can apply to or they can all just live together abroad.
But because she loves her daughter so much, Sharon allowed her to spread her wings and discover her identity just like how she did when KC Concepcion, the eldest in her brood, decided to study in a foreign land. In KC, case, it was Paris, France.
Frankie will officially start her first day of being a college student very soon.
