Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli have joined many netizens in dancing the viral dance trend of the Popstar Royalty’s cover of “Maybe This Time.”
In her performance for the grand opening of General Santos City’s Tuna Festival 2024, the singer-actress sang her rendition of the Michael Martin Murphey song.
After that, Sarah sang the bridge part of the song once again and danced the viral dance steps along with her husband Matteo.
"Parang hindi ko kayo nakitang sumayaw eh. Pwedeng isa pa ba sa bridge part? Parang kulang kasi hindi kayo sumayaw eh," she told the audience before doing the dance.
The dance steps were made famous by Grade 10 student Ralp Xyrel Villaruz on TikTok. It has since been a viral sensation on the video-sharing app, being performed by netizens and celebrities alike.
Sarah’s version of “Maybe This Time” is the original soundtrack for the 2014 film of the same name where she starred alongside Coco Martin. It was produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.
This is not the first song of hers to have a trending dance challenge, however. It could be recalled that in 2019, her 2016 hit “Tala,” from her album “The Great Unknown,” became a viral sensation around the world.
