On Friday, August 16, acclaimed Filipino fashion designer Eddie Baddeo was reported to have passed away at the age of 57.
The news was announced on Facebook by his long-time partner Edgar Medina, declaring his death at 1:40 AM on Friday.
Baddeo rose to fame in the 80s and 90s with his avant-garde couture, using peculiar materials such as CDs and Venetian blinds in his creations. He also designed ensembles for veteran celebrities like Boots Anson-Roa and Susan Roces.
He was diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer in 2016.
A few days before his death, the fashion designer was celebrating his 33 years in the fashion industry, which he posted on Instagram.
He was also set to launch his book Obra Maestra at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) this September.
