South Korean actor Park Bo Gum is starting his military service on August 31, as confirmed by his management Blossom Entertainment.
The agency released an official statement earlier today, June 25, about Bo Gum’s military enlistment.
The statement read: “Actor Park Bo Gum was accepted as a cultural promotion soldier of the navy and he will be enlisting on August 31, 2020.
“He will complete filming for the film ‘Wonderland’ and drama ‘Record of Youth’ prior to his enlistment.
“We ask for your support so actor Park Bo Gum can fulfill his military duty in good health. Thank you."
It could be recalled that last June 1, Bo Gum had his interview for his military enlistment and fans were surprised about his sudden plans of joining the navy.
His management also confirmed the news the following day, saying, “Because he did everything quietly, only a handful of people know even at the agency. Though there may be much that you are curious about, the situation will change depending on the result, so please understand that it’s difficult to disclose any details at the moment.”
Bo Gum is famous for his roles in such K-drama hits such as Encounter, Love in the Moonlight, and Reply 1998.
His remaining projects—Seo Bok, Wonderland, and Record of Youth—will premiere this year.
Congratulations, Park Bo Gum!
