Last September 15, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) rolled-out its Responsableng Panonood (RP) Campaign in Bacolod City.

Hosted by the SM Malls, the event benefited over a hundred individuals from the Federated Parent-Teacher Association in Bacolod City.

There, MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto emphasized the significance of active parenting in a digital world and explained how MTRCB ratings can assist families in making informed content choices.

The Responsableng Panonood (RP) Campaign got massive support from entertainment company, VIVA Communications, Inc., the first Filipino-owned and operated Video-on-Demand provider which partnered with the MTRCB in disseminating informations about the RP campaign.

Viva also sent its Kung Di Lang Tayo Sumuko (Viva One) star Rhen Escaño to Bacolod to join some officers and board members of the agency in discussing the agency's goals.

It may be recalled that Viva, represented by Vincent del Rosario, has signed a memorandum of agreement with the MTRCB in January 27. In that agreement, Viva has committed to "carry out programs and activities that aid in the protection of the viewing public."

Furthermore, Viva has also committed to practice responsible self-regulation by providing adequate age-rating advisory on its Video-on-Demand (VOD) content for its web streaming platforms Vivamax and Viva One (formerly Viva Prime).

The media and entertainment giant also assured the agency that it is retaining the parental control feature in the abovementioned platforms.

Vincent, in January said that the MOA was “basically saying that we are committed to the campaign of responsible viewing and that there are proper safeguards in the platform that make sure access to sensitive content will be limited to adults.”
