Singer-songwriter Marion Aunor received an invitation to attend the 61st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony on February 10 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
During the interview with Pikapika, Marion shared how she got an invite and felt so honored to appear in such a prestigious event where talented and famous artists come together.
“For the Grammys, mga two years ago po naging member ako. I was going to States back & forth po sa LA to sa Nashville kasi naghahanap ako ng songwriting convention, kasi I wanted to enhance my music.”
“Meron akong random na meet na lady dun actually nakatabi ko lang yong table niya. I was with a group of strangers and very friendly lahat, tapos sabi niya naghahanap siya and encharge siya sa mga Grammys memberships.”
“She was like oh you can try to join if you’re qualified tapos tinignan niya yong music ko.”
“Months later I got an email na accepted ako as a member of the recording academy or the Grammys and I was like wow!”
The 26-year-old singer revealed that this is not the only time she got invited to the Grammys.
“Months after, meron pang invitation bigla to the Grammy Awards I don’t know this was part of it akala ko parang ok member ka but you can actually get to go na parang artist lang or something, so yon I was so grateful and I was supposed to go last year pero yung time na yon nagkasakit nga ako.”
She also said that she will definitely go this time around and she can no longer wait to take selfies with her favorite Hollywood stars and artists.
“Kaya this year second time akong ma invite sa Grammys and I’m definitely going I have no idea what to expect, I already have like a gown bahala na kung anuman ang mangyayari dun.
“Actually I really wanna meet, mga favourite ko siguro sila Taylor Swift, sila Lady Gaga, yong mga pop star, mga mainstream pop stars kasi I really love their song writing and their artistry nila so I hope to meet them”
Marion told us that she already have a lifetime membership in Grammy’s once she got in. She also plans to take advantage of her trip for vacation and go to several songwriting conventions in California.
“Kaya ko prinolong because magpupunta rin ako sa iba pang song writing convention pero within California din so parang sayang kung uuwi pa ako and then so for the whole month of February i’ll be in the US going to the Grammys and then working on my songwriting.”
Marion just recently created a song which also served as an OST for the latest of movie of Xian Lim and Louise Delos Reyes directed by Bona Fajardo entitled Hanggang Kailan. It is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
