JK Labajo, "honored and scared" playing Ninoy Aquino; says biopic has no political colors

I was offered the role, I was really happy and scared at the same time. Kasi I feel, as an actor, the hardest part is play a real-life character as authentic as possible. Hopefully, I was able to play it well. I was able to honor Sir Ninoy. I feel honored and scared at the same time," saad ni JK.

“Actually, when I was offered the role, I was really happy and scared at the same time. Kasi I feel, as an actor, the hardest part is play a real-life character as authentic as possible. Hopefully, I was able to play it well. I was able to honor Sir Ninoy. I feel honored and scared at the same time," diin ni JK.

“I guess, it’s for them to decide, e.  No matter what you do, people will make their own decision, right? No matter what how much you sell to them, it’s up to them to buy it or not. So, I guess for the younger generation, it’s [up to] their family [to convince them] and how they grew up. I think on our end naman, we’re gonna help and promote with what influence we have on social media and reach out to the market...'You know we did something. We’re proud of it and we hope that you watch it and like it,'" paliwanag ni JK.

“I guess. Actually, gusto ko lang pangunahan kasi for sure, maraming mga tao na pag sinasabi nilang  'Ako si Ninoy' o bakit may Ninoy in you [tagline], iisipin na ng maraming tao na, 'Ay,dilawan.'

"That’s not the point of what we’re doing. We’re not trying to change your political views on things. We’re merely using Ninoy Aquino as a basis on what a hero is. And he had sacrificed for his family and everything he had for his country, just like everyone of us," esplika niya.

"In other words, we also sacrifice every day, every single day—sa bahay, sa trabaho, di ka nakababayad ng utang. Marami tayong pinagdadaanan sa buhay. Marami tayong sakripisyong ginagawa,” pagpapatuloy at pagbibigay-halimbawa pa niya,

“Ako nakaka-relate ako kay Ninoy kasi maraming iba’t-ibang bagay na lumalabas na naninira sa kanya at ang pinakasaklap, I guess bilang tao sa showbiz industry is for people to believe that you’re a perversion of yourself and not to believe the truth.

"It’s all about believing in the truth and standing your ground...that there’s a Ninoy in all of us. There’s a hero in all of us because we have our own sacrifices and that make us a hero,” pagtatatapos niya.
