Briones will portray Dr. Richard Hanover.

Two years ago pa raw in-offer ni Murphy kay Briones ang role sa Ratched pagkatapos nilang magkatrabaho sa award-winning mini-series na The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story kung saan ginampanan niya si Modesto Cunanan, ang Filipino father ng serial killer na si Andrew Cunanan; at American Horror Story: Apocalypse where he portrayed Ariel Augutus.

“The character is very real and complex. He’s a brilliant man with good intentions but he’s dealing with demons from his past. To be a lead on TV is something I’ve never been before and for him to be a Filipino is special to me. It’s the best role I’ve played on television so far,” sey ni Briones sa kanyang role bilang Dr. Hanover.

Na-shoot na raw ang naturang series last year sa FOX studios at sa ilang locations sa California bago pa magkaroon ng COVID-19 pandemic. Naka-set itong mag-premiere sa Netflix in September 2020.

“We filmed from February to July of last year. The highlight was working with these wonderful actors and playing a lead. It’s really not something you even dare to dream about growing up in the Philippines,” sey pa ni Briones na nakasama sa mga malalaking eksena ang mga big Hollywood stars na sina Sharon Stone, Cynthia Nixon, Judy Davis, and Sarah Paulson as Nurse Ratched.

Kasama rin sa cast sina Amanda Plummer, Cory Stoll, Sophie Okonedo, Finn Wittrock, Rosanna Arquette at Vincent D'Onofrio.

Born in Quezon City, naging US citizen si Briones noong 2010. Nakabilang siya sa first batch of Filipino actors na nakasama sa original cast ng Miss Saigon in London noong 1989. Kasama niya rito sina Lea Salonga, Monique Wilson, Pinky Amador, Jenine Desiderio, Isay Alvarez, Robert Seña, and the late Junix Inocian.

Nag-US premiere din ito in San Francisco, Outerfest Film Festival in LA at Frameline Film Festival noong June 2019.

Naging founder din si Rain ng ActNOW, ang first and only acting class in Los Angeles prioritizing a safe space for LGBTQIA actors.

“I was afraid for the longest time. I never wanted to admit that I was a trans woman. I had my own internal transphobia. In fact, when I encounter new people and the subject of my trans identity comes up, usually the first question they ask is, "When did you know you were trans?”
