Valentine’s Day is #Jowable day!
Another chance awaits those who didn’t catch director Darryl Yap’s trending blockbuster film, #Jowable, in cinemas last year; and even those who simply want to relive the alternate laugh-out-loud and tulo-luha moments brought about by the films’ relatable punchlines and hard-hitting dramatic twists.
Viva Films surprised their followers by making an official announcement on all their social media accounts regarding #Jowable’s Netflix premiere on Valentine’s Day, February 14, no less.
#Jowable, which marked Darryl’s mainstream directorial debut, grossed a total of ₱105 million, successfully making it to the list of the Top 10 highest Filipino grossing films of 2019.
The story revolves around a woman named Elsa Mangahas, ably played by Kim Molina, who is desperately seeking romantic love and sexual satisfaction. The film, which also featured Kim’s reel-and-real life boyfriend, Jerald Napoles, puts Kim in the elite blockbuster royalty cluster.
Direk Darryl and some cast of #Jowable took to their respective social media accounts to spread the exciting news and to announce their Valentine’s treat to every Netflix account user.
Direk Darryl’s Twitter tease was a screenshot of the #Jowable poster included in the streaming site’s upcoming film list.
Kim excites her fans by sharing the movie poster on her Instagram account. And the photo was captioned: “News is out! Your surprise date on Valentine's Day.. #JOWABLEonNETFLIX Feb 14!”
Jerald, for his part, retweeted his girlfriend’s post about #Jowable’s Netflix release.
Kakai Bautista, who played as Kim’s mother in the film, also uploaded the movie poster on her Instagram stories.
