Dahil sa Viva Prime at Vivamax, Viva committed to produce 70 films this year!

Ganyan din, more or less ang plano nila sa Viva Prime, which will be home for general audience movies.

"Sa amin parang wala ng distinction between movie for cinema or streaming," saad ni Viva President and COO Vincent del Rosario during the Viva Prime launch. "Parang na-blur na 'yong line na 'yon. Pareho na lang. It's how you create a content and you know, use the right people, work with the right people in creating that content."

Wala raw silang problema sa right people dahil maraming writers and directors—veterans and new breed—na ngayon palang ay ka-trabaho na nila for Viva Prime.

"Kasi if we are doing 70 movies this year, they are three times more than what we decided to pursue o we delayed pursuing. So, at least 200 concepts minimum every year [ang pinag-aaralan]... so, lumalabo na 'yong mata ni Valerie...dati nang malabo 'yong mata ni Tita June. Mahirap 'yong work pero if you know your market and with the help of 'yong analytics namin, and then 'yong history nga ng pagre-release namin ng pelikula sa cinemas, mas madali nang makapa kung ano 'yong gusto ng merkado. Pero s'yempre marami pa rin missteps along the way. We try to minimize na lang."

(Val is Valerie del Rosario, SVP for Content Creation and Development ng Viva; while Tita June is June Torrejon, SVP of Viva Communications, Inc. and the head of Viva's film department.)

Of these 70 movies they're producing this year, 20 dito ang nakalaan daw for theatrical release dahil hindi pa rin daw nila tinatalikuran ang large-format art. At ang plano, 45 after the theater release ay p'wede na itong mapanood sa Viva Prime.

But, of course, Viva Prime will also be coming up with its own originals. In fact, dito ilalapag ang much-awaited teen romance series na The Rain In España starring Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo.

Si Boss Vic [del Rosario] naman, open for having our content in other platforms. In fact, patuloy kaming nagpo-provide ng content.

"We're happy for servicing or providing for all the players here and abroad. Kasi may content kami nasa ibang platform outside of the Philippines. So, 'yon okey kami. And then, s'yempre, marami rin doon sa ating mga artists, mga directors, gusto rin nila nakikita 'yong content nila in global platforms. Parang achievement din for them. So, okey lang. No insecurities, negosyo lang."
