QCinema, the official film festival of Quezon City, also known as the City of the Stars, will have a section solely for three classic Viva films to honor the contribution of Viva Entertainment founder Vic Del Rosario, Jr. to the film industry.
In the official Facebook account of the film festival, it announced that the three Viva films to be shown are the biggest hits from previous decades and were helmed by acclaimed directors. They are Emmanuel H. Borlaza’s Bituing Walang Ningning, Joel Lamangan’s The Flor Contemplacion Story, and Ishmael Bernal’s Working Girls.
Vicente “Boss Vic” Del Rosario, Jr. founded Viva Entertainment back in November 1981, becoming one of the powerhouses of the entertainment industry for 38 years.
Watch out for these Viva classics at the QCinema International Film Festival! According to its official Facebook account, QCinema “is designed to serve as the lens through which the general public will get to appreciate the active role of Quezon City in Philippine filmmaking from its pioneering years in the 50’s down to the present and on to the future.”
The film festival will take place from October 13-22, 2019! Save the date, moviegoers!
