Isa ang tinaguriang Asia’s Romantic Balladeer na si Christian Bautista sa mga ni-renew ng GMA-7 ang kontrata kamakailan lang. At sa kanyang pagpapasalamat sa network, sinabi niyang more than the secured income ay naa-appreciate niya ang tiwala at suporta ng GMA sa iba’t ibang aspeto ng entertainment na gusto niyang subukan.
“What I can say is, I was not given enough platforms. I was given all platforms,” nakangiting saad ni Christian.
“All of them, to the point that I was even part of Alden Richards’ virtual Reality concert as Line Producer and it’s something that I’ve always wanted to try as well and learn something so much sa show na ‘yun and how concert works specially in this new normal.
“I’m also given opportunities to suggest, to oppose, to wrestle with ideas and ang sarap ng feeling na you’re able to do that.”
Sa muli niyang pagpirma ng kontrata bilang isang Kapuso, ang isa raw sa nakakapagpa-excite kay Christian ay ang nalalapit na pagbabalik ng The Clash Season 4.
“I’ll focus on The Clash Season 4. I’m so excited dito sa new energy na papasok sa The Clash Season 4 that as a judge and siguro as a contestant, kung ano ‘yung energy nila, that hopeful energy na nakikita nilang pabukas na muli ang mundo, slightly as the vaccination comes in.
“I’m excited for that.”
Katulad ng halos lahat sa loob at labas ng industriya, hindi itinanggi ni Christian na malaki rin ang nawala sa kanya, income-wise, dahil sa pandemya.
Ayon kay Christian, “Sabihin na lang natin na malaki po dahil kapag walang corporate show, walang provincial show, walang international tours, medyo malaki po ‘yun.
“Kaya napaka-grateful ako, to still be renewed dito po sa GMA because despite what happened last year, we are hopeful and we’re preparing and raring to go this year.
“Let’s get it all back and more.”
Kung malaking bagay kay Christian professionally ang muling pag-kontrata sa kanya ng GMA, personally, paano niya ito tinitingnan?
“Personally, it’s also my gift to my wife and to my family na ‘hey, look, this wonderful company believes in me and we will still be able to work together for the common purpose of entertaining the Filipino and to provide for this family.
“So, it’s big. It’s really a big, big thing for me. I am grateful beyond anything I can say right now. I am thankful.”
Masasabing isa siya sa mga Filipino artists na nakagawa na rin ng pangalan sa ibang Asian countries, patikular na sa Indonesia, Malaysia, at Singapore
Kung papalarin daw mabigyan ulit ng mga opportunities sa international scene ay welcome na welcome sa kanya.
“May plano pa rin akong ituloy ‘yun ano mang international work na maga-grab nating opportunity. That has always been the direction naman.
“Kaya itong VIU series, ang ‘Still’ will be broadcasted regionally. So anything like that, palagi ko siyang hinahanap at inaasam.”
May dream project pa ba siya na hindi niya nagagawa?
“Ang dream project ko na hindi ko po nagagawa is to produce a movie or a musical movie or a musical series,” saad niya.
“Kasi, na-inspire rin ako rito sa ginagawa naming project na Still na as an actor, ang sarap to relish the character and the story, pero behind the scene, as a possible producer or writer, nasa sa ‘yo ang power to give the emotion or the direction or the purpose of your project.
“Yeah, I’d like to do that.”
Sa panahong marami pa ring uncertainties, masasabing isa si Christian sa secured kahit papaano ang mga parating na bukas dahil nga sa magandang relasyon nila ng GMA-7.
“It gives me peace, it gives me comfort and it gives me excitement as well na mapagpapatuloy natin ang what we love and that I can also, through The Clash nga, help new singers and performers as I help navigate on what possible life they would be as they enter the entertainment [scene].”
Sa ngayon, patuloy pa rin napapanood si Christian sa Sunday musical/comedy show na ‘All-Out Sundays’ at ginagawa niya kasama si Julie Anne San Jose ang “Still” na original series ng streaming app na VIU.
Nagpa-plano na rin siya para sa kanyang ika-20th anniversary concert sa 2022.
“Pinipili namin on what to share now after 20 years. It’s exciting as well,” lahad niya.
