Over the weekend, American rock band Journey, along with its Filipino vocalist Arnel Pineda, performed at a fundraiser spearheaded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The band, known for their songs “Faithfully” and “Any Way You Want It”, sang their hit “Don’t Stop Believin’” in the confines of their own homes, alongside former American Idol judge Randy Jackson, who acted as a bassist of the group back in 1986. Randy played bass for Journey back in the day for their album “Raised on Radio.”
Their performance was part of the one-hour special UNICEF Won’t Stop, which aired in the United States last Saturday, May 23. The special aims to raise funds that will be used to buy personal protective equipment (PPE) for the medical frontliners and the needs of disadvantaged children.
Other singers who performed in the special include music icons Cher, Rod Stewart, Sting, and Sheryl Crow.
