Fans of actors Arci Muñoz and JM de Guzman believed that the two best friends have taken their relationship to the next level after the former posted a video of the latter seemingly courting her in Boracay.
"Matagal na tayong best friends pero pwede bang manligaw?" JM asked Arci on the Instagram video posted last Sunday, April 4.
"Just really glad that the whole family was able to witness this beautiful moment," Arci wrote as a caption, while using the hashtags #mayforever and #frombestfriendstolovers and saying that there will be a revelation on her vlog the next day.
This led their fans to surmise that the two have begun a romantic relationship.
It turned out to be a prank as Arci posted a full version of the video on her YouTube channel on Monday, April 5.
The vlog showed that Arci and JM were actually part of another proposal for a member of the former's family.
After JM "courted" Arci, she "rejected" him in jest and JM handed the flowers to Arci's brother Manolet, who proposed to his girlfriend.
Some fans on Twitter voiced their thoughts about Arci and JM's prank, saying they really thought they were together.

Arci's last relationship was with businessman Anthony Ng. The actress revealed her break-up with Ng last August 2019.
JM, on the other hand, was previously in a short-lived relationship with Barbie Imperial, who is now dating Diego Loyzaga.
Arci and JM have known each other before entering showbiz, meeting in college as theater arts majors.
